This speech from Ellen Page makes me sad for the world.
It’s sad knowing that I live in a world where people are scared to be proud of who they are on the inside. That people are ashamed to live and take their lives because it seems like the only way that they can deal with how they feel.
But at the same time, I am happy that because of Ellen, people can be strong and be proud of who they are and the life they live.
I believe that no matter what, if you love someone and you want to marry them, whether they be of a different sex, race or religion, you should have the RIGHT to be married.
The Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transsexual community should have equal rights to those who are straight. They are often in more loving relationships than most straight people I know and why governments around the world - including Australia - still deny them the right to get married holding religion and fear of the losing the public vote is something that they should be ashamed of.
Stand up and be heard. Let your local, state and federal government bodies know that this is important to you. They represent YOU, so tell them what you want and help make a change for those who’s rights are being withheld from them.
Love and light for a better and more loving future.
